Generation Köln trifft Werkraum Bregenzerwald

A draft is like a journey. It starts with an idea, is fuelled by anticipation, takes shape through the planning. Nevertheless, there is one or the other obstacle to note.

For this year’s exhibition, the four designers of „Generation Köln“, Karoline Fesser, Klemens Grund, Tim Kerp and Thomas Schnur are travelling to Austria. In Bregenzerwald, they meet a group of selected craftsmen: Harald Berchtold, Martin Bereuter, Valentin Winder, Wolfgang Meusburger and Wolfgang Schmidinger, all members of the „Werkraum Bregenzerwald“. Curiously they observe the deep rootedness of the people and the material. The silver fir from the uplands serves as natural resource and living environment at the same time. This material as connecting design element and a close collaboration with the craftsmen are the basis of new products, reflecting impressions of landscape, tradition, building culture and craftsmanship.

In cooperation with the Werkraum Bregenzerwald the designers and the craftsmen present their furniture pieces in a clean new atmosphere at Galerie Martina Kaiser in Cologne.
